2023 H1 Update

Goodness me, it’s been a while since I wrote one of these. What a lot has changed.

I have had the privilege, among other things, to start a new job in IT. I don’t want to post more details on the Internet (for what I hope are obvious reasons), but it’s definitely an interesting and exciting job.

Streaming

As some of you may have noticed, I haven’t streamed or produced much content on my Twitch or YouTube channels lately. This is due to a lot of things, but mainly it’s due to settling into my new job as well as my new accommodation. I’ve been wanting to make sure that I’m all sorted before starting that back up again, and I think I’m nearing the point where I’m good to go.

The hope is to start producing content in some form or another in the next couple of months. This may be in the form of pre-recorded content, or in the form of livestreams – I’m still working out all the details. However, this comes with the caveat that this is a hope and not a promise, and timelines do slip.

Look out for more information on my streaming in the coming weeks, including polls as to what kind of content you’d like to see.

Socialising

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a wide variety of people over the past 2 years. Everyone I’ve met has been really nice and easy to get along with, which is a very nice trait for friends to have.

Finally…

There’s a lot of things I could add to this, however I want to keep it short so that people aren’t reading this for 15 minutes. From the friends I’ve made to the new changes in my life, from the things I’ve been doing to the people who’ve stayed with me and supported me, I have two words to say to you all – Thank you. Thank you to everyone who has helped me or stayed with me at some point. You all know who you are, but know that I appreciate every single little (and big) thing that you’ve done with me.

2021 Update

So, it’s my first time writing one of these… Let’s see how this goes, shall we?

This year has been full of twists and turns. From meeting new people to starting new projects to stepping down from projects that I no longer wished to be involved in, things have turned out in a way that I most definitely could not have predicted.

One of the new projects I started is my Twitch channel (https://twitch.tv/redstonedesigner) where I play games and am exploring the possibility of doing some development livestreams. I try to stream every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday at around 6 – 7 PM UTC and am typically live for 3 – 4 hours, so do feel free to drop in and say hi. A special thanks to everyone who appears on-stream with me and to everyone who drops into the stream chat – I wouldn’t be able to do it without you all.

I have had the opportunity to significantly enhance my programming skills to the point where I feel confident working on projects by myself and have actually developed multiple systems either for educational courses or for production systems. The same goes for my systems administration skills, which have now expanded to include Workspace/MS365 management, SSO implementations and containerization, among other things.

I can think of many more things I could add to this post, however I think that it would make this post extremely long. I’ll summarise in two words: Thank you. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me and supported me when I was feeling down. Thank you to everyone who has helped me when I needed it. Thank you to everyone who has put up with my interesting personality and way of communicating. Thank you to everyone that I have met and am happy to call my friends.
